Superfriends on The Family Guy

So Family Guy recently spoofed, nay paid mighty homage to, the Superfriends this last week gone. Their usual song-and-dance number of a title sequence was replaced by a scene-by-scene recreation of the Superfriends’s title sequence. They cast Peter as Superman, Lois as Wonder Woman, Brian and Stewie as Batman and Robin, and Chris as Aquaman. Meg? Meh, Meg couldn’t be bothered – she was just Meg.

ISH7 has put together a Youtube clip showing a side-by-side comparison of the Family Guy and Superfriends sequences.

Pay close attention Batfans to the double homage: as well as playing Batman in the 1960s Batman TV series Adam West – who I like to think of as an American Roger Moore – voiced Batman for the last couple of permutations of the Superfriends. He has had recent success playing a character called Adam West. In Family Guy, Adam West plays a version of himself who is the Mayor the Quahog, the city where the Family Guy cartoon is set. West appears in that role on the monitor screen in the Family Guy’s Superfriends sequence.

Of course this isn’t the first homage that the Family Guy has done to DC’s Heroes. Least we forget other memorable appearances:
