JLA Solicitations for December 2010 (updated)

DC Comics have released the first JLA solicitations for December 2010 as part of their Brightest Day preview on The Source. The conflict with the Crime Syndicate continues in JLA and the Dark Supergirl who was foreshadowed in Justice League of America (vol 2.) #48 makes her reappearance on a fantastic variant cover by David Mack. In Generation Lost Captain Atom gets another glimpse of the future. The solicitation makes reference to a Wonder Woman appearance which is interesting considering that the Greek Gods have altered reality around her (the JMS arc) and that the she killed Maxwell Lord the first time around – it could be a continuity nightmare, but the Generation Lost guys seem to be facing it head on.

Updated: to add JLA/The-99 #3 and Power Girl #19 which were included in DC’s full solicitation.I’ve included Power Girl as it features the JLI on the cover. The League are also mentioned in the Supergirl solicitation.

JLA Solicitations for November 2010

DC has released their Brightest Day solicitations (including the JLA) for November 2010. JLA #51 features a great variant cover of Starman and Congorilla by David Mack (the subject may not be as pretty as his Supergirl cover, but it’s great to see all team members getting their cover turn). The other five Leaguers (Jesse, Donna, Batman/Dick, Jade, and Supergirl) it refers to are the direct surrogates of the heroes the Crime Syndicate are based on so that makes sense.

The solicitation for Generation Lost pretty much confirms that either Captain Atom or Magog is going to die (Magog’s title has just been cancelled, you do the math). It would appear to be a fairly definite conclusion to the White Lantern directive for Max, but the series isn’t even half over yet. The second part of the JLA/The 99 crossover is also solicited.

In order to help their teammates, Bill and Mikaal must begin an odyssey across the world that will evoke memories of Prometheus.Retailers please note: This issue will ship with two covers. JLA #45 Preview

DC’s Source blog has posted a five page preview of JLA #45. Heroes connected with the Starheart are suffering ominous side-effects. The recently resurrected Jade fell to Earth in an emerald meteorite and Green Lantern Alan Scott’s unconscious body is glowing brighter and brighter. How will this mystery unite the JLA and JSA and what part does Supergirl play?

Dave Mack JLA #44 variant cover

Justice League of America #44 will feature a 1:25 variant cover by Kabuki author and artist David Mack. The cover, shown below, features the return of Jade, the daughter of the Golden Age Green Lantern. She had been killed off in during the Infinite Crisis, but was resurrected as one of the Brightest Day twelve in the final issue of Blackest Night.

After the demolition of new team in JLA #43 the team must be desperate for new blood. Jade is set to join the Justice League during the JLA/JSA crossover.

I’ve only just recalled a storyline from Countdown to Final Crisis that involved the Monitors chasing Donna Troy because they believed that she should have died during the Crisis and that some wrinkle of causality had instead caused Jade to die in her place. I don’t know if that’ll be picked up, but it’ll be interesting now their on the same team.
