There are several ways to store JLA comics. You can buy the trade collections, which are proper books that sit nicely on the bookshelf, or you can buy the individual issues. The problem with the latter is that you’re left with unsightly drifts of loose pamphlets or they are stashed out of sight in longboxes. Some fans want the flexibility of collecting individual issues with the elegance of bookshelf storage and are having their loose issues bound into proper books.
The default for this type of binding is to have some form of library-style leather cover with embossed lettering, e.g.
However, it’s also possible to do full colour covers. Michael J. Smith has just posted designs to his blog for wrap around binding-covers for the current JLA series.
