Amazing DC Pantheon Etched on an Etch-A-Sketch
This is quite amazing. It’s the Justice League recreated on an Etch-A-Sketch by the Etch-A-Sketch Man (alias Christoph Brown) and edited together by Nathaniel Brown. What impresses me isn’t just his skill with the device, but a lot of these are actually quite good compositions regardless of the medium.

Wu-Tang Clan team-up with the JLA
Some team-ups have never been dreamed of, until now that is. The Comics Alliance’s Chris Sims and Rusty Shackles have reimagined the cover from the JLA and JSA’s first team-up as this team-up between the JLA and the Wu-Tang Clan. Go to the Comics Alliance to see the full version.
Warren Martineck’s JLA Artist Proofs
Warren Martineck is one of the arts who has provided sketch cards for the Justice League Archives Trading Cards. He’s recently posted this great double panel of the JLA and JSA teaming-up to fight Starro. These are Artist Proof cards, which he describes as:
An Artist’s Proof card is a separate blank card with special printing [...]
Darwyn Cooke’s monochrome trinity
Burton, of the Original Comics Book Art blog, reports the sale on eBay of several large pieces of stunning Darwyn Cooke (Spirit, DC: The New Frontier) artwork. The piece from which is the above is taken is a large monochrome piece featuring Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman that sold for 2,500 dollars.
Seth Kushner’s Cos-players
Seth Kushner is a New York based photographer who has taken an interest in cos-players at comic book conventions. His project on fandom (and here) has been spun out into a photo-essay on NYC Graphic. I think my favourite image is the one that’s reproduced the most – the juxtoposition of the Golden Age Green [...]
Mike Mayhew’s Green Arrow sketch
Mike Mayhew, the artist on March’s Justice League: The Rise and Fall Special #1, has posted a fantastic Green Arrow sketch to Deviant Art. He describes it as “Warming up for my Justice League: Rise & Fall gig.” Also go see the coloured version, but I think I prefer the pure pencils.
Ulises Farinas draws LEGO Blackest Night
This is an impressive piece by Ulises Farinas, the hoards of Blackest Night rendered as LEGO mini-figs. I love the floating Bruce Wayne skull-brick and the way that he’s even got Krypto in there from the Blackest Night: Superman issues.

Adam Hughes’s Sketches for Fire’s costume
Adam Hughes’s preliminary design sketches (A and B) for Fire’s 1990s costume have been shared online by their owner Mike Frigon. Note the reference to Keith Giffen wanting a “Madonna look.”
Rafael Albuquerque’s Justice League
This piece shows an alternative Justice League. It’s attributed to Brazilian artist Rafael Albuquerque (Blue Beetle, Superman/Batman). I don’t know if this is just a commission piece or whether it’s from an unannounced project (he was a DC exclusive until April 2009), but I can’t find it on the artist’s Deviant Art page or his [...]
JLA #21 recreation by Matt Kindt
This caught my attention on Covered (Robert Goodin’s blog showcasing recreations of classic comic book covers in differing and eccentric art styles) while I was searching for information on the upcoming Crisis on Two Earths DVD. It is a recreation of JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA #21 (vol 1), a commission, done by Matt Kindt.
