Thanks Mart. I must admit that Miss Martian is also one of my favourite new characters and sunny is the right description for her. I was rather surprised when I read Brightest Day, I sure hope she gets better -- it'd be rather strange for DC to kill a character just before she get's mainstream exposure.

Hi Steve. Thanks for the corrections (so much for my hubris). The JSA All-Stars really don't do much for me as a separate team - they are all okay characters, but only really when allied with the proper JSA. I drifted away from the JSA after Geoff Johns left. I still bought the books, but they haven't been too memorable for me.

I think if this crossover shows anything its that James Robinson would make a great JSA writer.

Just brilliant work, Jason. A detailed precis, sharp opinions and annotations to astound.

I'm especially appreciative of the Brightest Day (ho ho) image of M'Gann. Well, not the image, but the knowledge that the book I dropped after #2 is carrying on as previously - retcons and gore. I hope Miss Martian is OK, I like her loads. She's massively powerful, and terribly sunny.

You're dead on about the need for a proper roll call of main characters. And how I'd love a vertical strip of heads down the cover, a la the old JLA/JSA team-ups.

Love the annotations! A couple of quick corrections though - Tom Bronson goes by Tomcat now, not Wildcat. Liberty Belle became Jesse Quick in Flash Rebirth briefly then reverted to being Liberty Belle again, had her adventures in the All-Star back-up and Willingham's run on JSA, and then became Jesse Quick permanently during Blackest Night: JSA and that leaves us where we are at now.

Oh and Jade hasn't officially joined the JLA yet right?
