It's strange, when I was writing that part I wasn't really thinking about the quality of the writing. It hadn't thrown me out of the story, I was thinking that the League inside the story were having an off-day rather than the writer was having an off day.

The League may have a debate, but I doubt they'll get a word in edgeways with Prometheus around.

And it has just occurred to me where the "I've already started it" part of the plan comes from - he's playing Ozymandias from Watchmen. The parallel between Ozymandias and Prometheus isn't one I've made before, but fits in the the trope of the self-made orphaned-genius hero/villain (e.g. Batman, et al).

I agree that the fight scene was badly written (even given their emotional state, it was just to easy), and the art on those first two pages makes it look even more ridiculously simple -- at least the scene with the Hawks is drawn to give it more suspense and action. But I still couldn't tell what happened to Reddy and when exactly Starfire got knocked out.

And how exactly was Donna able to sneak up on him and beat the snot out of him? Why couldn't he "improvise" with her the way he did with Shade?

So, is the entire next issue going to be a debate? It sounds like the Simpson's parody of The Phantom Menace, where the action movie turns out to be a C-SPAN episode.
