10 Great/Odd JLA Variants

I’ve been collecting a growing list of odd takes on the Justice League for a while now. Each time I see a new one I think “I must do a post on that,” but invariably I get side tracked by something else. So I thought I’d pull together ten of the best and weirdest for a quick run down. One or two I’ve posted about before, but most are new (to this blog at least). In no order:

DC Direct Photography

There is a strong and surprisingly large community on flickr devoted to artistic photographs of Justice League action figures. There are taken with all the care and artistic license that one might expect from a professional comisssion or an actual comicbook panel. Dreamonix seems to be one of the best at this – that’s his JLA above and its also available as a print.

Justice League of Springfield

Springfield Punx: Major DC characters in the style of the Simpsons.

Women of the DC Universe

Women of the DC Universe. A Vogue style poster put out by DC Comics themselves as a promotional image as at name the Convention.

The Guild of Justice-Minded Citizenry

The Guild of Justice-Minded Citizenry. Straight from Earth-1880 comes a troupe of cosplayers called the “Guide of Justice-Minded Citizenry” who have taken up Victorian-era costumes inspired by DC’s greatest characters. Their Flickr pool contains many pictures.

Pixelized JLA

Pixelised JLA by Hiroki8′s Devant Art.

Justice League of Peanuts

Custom Mini-Figures

Levork has got a slick set of custom JLA mini-figures, both of the new League (above) and the classic league.

Gaslight Justice League

Another Victorian-Era set of JLA heroes, but this time they’re custom action figures produced by skilled modeller Sillof. This one I have commented on before.

The Pony League

This one was around a few years ago, but I never really understood how it came about. That’s right it’s My Little Pony mods as the Justice League. Proving that absolutely anything can be made better by modding it into a DC Superhero. Unfortunately the original website that spawned these now appears to be dead (these were fished out of archive.org).
