JL Heroes for GameCube fan campaign

Justice League Heroes, the X-Men Legends style RPG, currently being developed by Snowblind Studies has been getting favourable advance press from fans and comicbook sites, but not everybody is sharing in the praise. According to the original press release the game will be available for Sony’s Playstation 2 and Playstation Portable (PSP), and the Microsoft’s XBox, but no mention was made of Nintendo’s GameCube. That omission has upset some otherwise loyal Justice League fans. One fan wrote to the Captain’s JLA Homepage saying,

[Justice League Heroes and Superman Returns] Will not be comming out for the GameCube, oh, but wait! They are both comming out for EVERY OTHER SYSTEM. Including the 3 new generation consoles that are not even out yet. Now tell me, do you find that fair? I know I don’t. And I also know that as of 1:30AM May 21st 2006 there is a petition floating [around] the internet in hopes of getting enougn signatures to change this horrible decision. Sure it’ll take money to put it on the GameCube, but you know as well as I do that it’ll be made up when everyone who owns a GameCube buys it.

The petition can be found at petitiononline.com. I personally don’t know how much success the petition will get as I’ve seen mention on message boards that the developers don’t do or more correctly haven’t yet done a GameCube game. Also Nintendo saw profits slide last year due to a slow down in demand for the Game Cube and there are only a couple of high profile games in the pipeline for the rest of this year. Good luck to those GameCube owners hoping for Superman and JL Heroes games, but I fear for your chances.

Update 7 June 2006: It has been announced that versions of Justice League Heroes will be available for the Nintendo DS and Game Boy Advance. Still no news on the Nintendo Game Cube front.
