I'm a devoted Batman fan, but I can understand why Superman would be ranked higher; by no more than 1 slot, of course. But Spiderman? There's absolutely nothing that justifies his ranking except his current popularity, and I don't think this was intended to be a popularity contest. Superman should have been number 1 because... well, he's Superman. I didn't even question that he would win. Why don't you create your own ranking? Maybe that will make me feel more sane about the whole thing. I saw the Vixen and Villain lists as well, and I can agree, overall, with those, but not entirely.
