Classified gets variant cover

JLA CLASSIFIED #1 will ship with two variant covers, the previously released image of the JLA and a new cover featuring the Ultramarine Corps. The covers will ship in equal numbers. (I’ve only just twigged, but they’re both classic JUSTICE LEAGUE #1 style crowd covers that have been “zoomed out”. Now if they’d just release them without the “Where is the Justice League?” lettering.)

In DC’s Ask The Editor’s #7 Mike Carlin responds to a question about the future direction of the JLA franchise. He confirmed that Dan Jurgens and co. will be delivering a 3-issue story between Kurt Busiek’s first and second story arcs:

…Dan (ARKHAM ASYLUM, She-Hulk) Slott joins forces with Dan Jurgens and Trevor Scott, Jerry Ordway & Al Milgrom to tell the story of an all new JLA villain in JLA #s 115 thru 117 (previewed in this month’s JLA SECRET FILES 2004!).

The Pulse interviewed Gail Simone about her incredible run on Birds of Prey. Towards the end she mentioned the progress of her own JLA arc.

I’m working on the last script, and Jose is, I think, on the fourth of six issues. We both got pulled away by a couple projects that had extra immediacy on them, but this is still absolutely one of my favorite projects ever. I’ve gone on about this at length many times, but Jose is just a God of comics art, and each new page is an unspeakable delight.
