The big news this weekend is the tide of reports, rumours and stories flooding out of Wizard World East in Philadelphia. Most of the big news-sites have details with the following being of note to JLA fans:
- JLA/Avengers a go in September – The event of the year now has a September launch date. JLA/Avengers will be a four-issue squarebound series with wrap-around covers.
- JLA: Liberty and Justice – The 96-page book by Paul Dini and Alex Ross now has a November release date.
- Plastic Man – Expect a new monthly Plastic Man series by Kyle Baker
- And in related news: The Pulse has an interview with Geoff Johns about his new Teen Titan’s series. Johns seems to be really pushing the publicity interviews out on this one.
Last weekend also saw Comics 2003, the United Kingdom’s biggest comics convention. This is the first year that I’ve missed the con (now that I’m working in the US of A and all), but Rich Johnstone has the scoop on the news and rumours in his Lying in the Gutters column. As usual all Rich’s items are rumour, but some of the more interesting rumours include news of a JLA/Avenger Hardcover directly after the series wraps and ex-JLA penciller Howard Porter will be illustrating a six-issue run on Marvel’s Fantastic Four.
